Hello friends!
I want to start off by honoring an amazing individual whose unexpected death has hit the gifted community hard this week. Dr. James Thurman Webb, known by most as "Jim," was the President of Great Potential Press and the Founder of SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted). He authored numerous articles and books including the best-seller, "A Parent's Guide to Gifted Children, Misdiagnosis and Dual Diagnoses, and Searching for Meaning." Jim was passionate about his work and his family. He touched numerous lives, including mine, and the vibrations of his legacy will be felt around the world for many years to come.
I am so grateful for Jim's contribution to the collaborative ebook, "Helping Gifted Kids Thrive: Insights from the Experts." As we make our way through the ebook, highlighting an expert's section each week, we will eventually reach Jim's and we will celebrate the wisdom and joy he brought to this world.
This week, we focus on Maggie Brown's section which provides us with a language that reflects our children's values. Click on the video below to see footage of Maggie providing a great resource that will help us guide our children to a better understanding of who they really are.
Until next time, please take good care of you.
Warmly,
P.S. The weekend of October 12 - 14, Dr. Linda Silverman and myself will be leading a "Gifted Mamas Retreat" in a gorgeous mountain getaway in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Register now to take advantage of the Earlybird Discount. Information can be found at www.guidingbright.com/?p=1787 .
